The Samsung Galaxy Tab is perfect for people who lead a busy lifestyle and always need to stay connected.
It has a 7-inch (17.8 cm) TFT touch screen and a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution with 16 million colors. It has two Cameras: 3.2 megapixel (2048 x 1536 pixels) and 1.3 megapixel (for video) and it contains limitless diversity with the Android 2.2 operating system. It comes in either black or white.

Web surfing is Comfortable with its Wi-Fi, HSDPA and Adobe Flash support. The Vibe-Tonz Effects provide tactile vibration feedback for touch commands.
Any new tablet will instantly draw comparisons with Apple’s iPad, but with a 7-inch 1024 x 600 screen compared to the iPad’s 9.7-inch 1024 x 768 version, the Galaxy Tab is a lot smaller.
And at just 385g it’s nearly half the weight of the 3G version of the iPad. It’s also compact, measuring 190 x 120 x 12mm. All this makes a real difference in day-to-day use, the Galaxy Tab is great for extended browsing sessions.
The 7 inch touch screen has some amazing entertainment and communication features. It has a slim design which is lightweight and makes it easy to carry around with you. It runs on the Android 2.2 operation system. It has voice and face video calling, along with four amazing Hubs to make it the ultimate tablet experience. It also supports Flash 10.1 and gives an enjoyable web surfing experience.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab already comes with a huge selection of different apps. The voice search app is very good. You can also search across the web, social networking websites and Android apps by using the voice tool. The Tab offers a Gmail app pre-loaded, and you can also sync with iMap, Pop3 or Exchange email accounts.
Samsung decided that holding the Galaxy Tab up to ones face is not the best way to make calls as it’s so large. So there is a speakerphone option, or you can use a head set.

Similar to the Galaxy S phones, the capacitive screen is highly responsive, and easily matches the iPad in the terms of its sensitivity. You won’t have any issues with making selections using a light tap or scrolling down the length of a long page. Similarly, the four-way accelerometer is quite responsive in most applications and it is quick to adjust when it is turned.
The Tab is great for reading, as its portability makes it very easy to use on a subway, bus, train or in a car. You can pull it out of your pocket at a moment’s notice, that sure beats reaching into a backpack or briefcase and pulling out your iPad. It is a differend kind of portable and that is the defining difference.
Inside the box you will find the Samsung Galaxy Tab, (of course) the battery, a headset, a date cable and a quick guide to understanding your new tablet.
It is the perfect alternative for people who do not want to use Apple products.
Reviews
On the whole the reviews were quite positive.
Because it is half the size and weight and has about half the screen size of an iPad, it is almost closer to a Sprint EVO or Motorola Xoom than a tablet that can be compared to the iPad, but this turned out to be a good thing for most people. Many people said that it was very light weight and portable, which made it perfect for taking with them everywhere they went, even on their long distance travels.
They said that the widgets, shortcuts, feeds and live wallpaper all help to make the Tab feel personal. Some people said the storage capacity was great as they never run out of storage space.
They mentioned that the build and quality of the Samsung Galaxy Tab is great and sturdy. A lot of people enjoyed the bright and colorful LCD screen as well as the great support it provided for all different types of formats. Another person commented “The touch screen works very well. You will get glare in some lighting conditions including outside but this is solved by adjusting the angle you view the device as you would a laptop screen.”

They also loved the two cameras, one forward and one backwards facing. The camera’s we said to be of excellent quality, even though tablet cameras are not known to be very good quality. Another feature that was very popular with the reviewers was the fact that it could also be used as a phone, something no other tablets are able to do, at least not so far. One reviewer said “In summary, the Galaxy TAB is a great bit of technology that brings together the functionality of multiple devices into one. I use it all the time and love doing so.”
One the less positive side of reviews were these complaints;
People found the device a bit cumbersome and clunky compared to the Apples sleek iPad version of the tablet. Some complained that the battery life was not long enough, especially when it’s being used for videos or games.
They also said that it was a bit too small to enjoy movies on. Another complaint was that it doesn’t charge with a regular USB cable. Also it was noted that the touch screen does not seem to be as responsive as the iPad’s touch screen.
Conclusion
The Samsun Galaxy Tab is a good alternative to the Apple iPads. It has good storage space, nice screens, and great performance. It can be used a phone, with blue tooth, as hands free or with a headset.
The battery life may not be as good as the iPad when watching videos and playing games. All in all it is a pretty good quality tablet device as it’s more portable than the other tablets on the market and it does pretty much the same things. It’s also cheaper than the Apple iPad, and if you aren’t accustomed to using Apple products, it’s probably the best choice for you.
